Sash Window Repair
Very few windows are beyond repair,despite what you may get told. Most windows need minor repairs which can easily be fixed with two-part filler or epoxy resin. If we feel the rot is too bad we will splice in new treated timber. Should the windowsill require repair we replace the whole sill in treated hardwood.
Overhauling A Sash Window
We remove the existing casements & clean excess paint from the window frame, This allows the casement to run smoothly. Whilst the casements are out we router brush pile to bottom and top & middle rails. We replace the sash cord and service the pulleys, then refit the casements. We also fit new draft striped staff & parting beads.
Draught Proofing
we remove the old staff and parting beads. Take out the upper and lower sashes from the frame, along with the sash cords. Create grooves on top and bottom also the meeting rail on the sashes to accommodate 8mm nylon brush draught proofing. Install the 8mm nylon brush draught proofing as required.
Double Glazing Off A Original Sashes
We can install energy efficient double glazed units to your existing sash windows. We router out the rebates in your existing casements and fit high energy efficient slimline units. This method allows you to keep all the character and charm of your existing windows. Another option is to supply and fit new casements to your existing windows. These can be made to fit argon gas filled units.
